Fun with Jack

Well, first of all.....it's been quite a while since we've updated our blog. Part of that has to do with the fact that I went back to work at the end of April. Granted I'm only working 15 hours a week...that's still 15 less hours I have to do other things! Working is going good. Jack has a wonderful babysitter, Ms. Becky. She keeps him 2 days and Chris is able to stay with Jack on the 3rd day. With the exception a couple of day trips we've mostly been at home for the past month. Here are a few highlights of our life the past month:
Jack's first wedding:
My cousin, Tracey, got married in Chattanooga so we headed there for the day. The wedding was beautiful. Tracey was the most wonderful bride and she married a great guy, Joe. So, we're really glad we got to be a part of it. It was Jack's first wedding to attend, but during the ceremony he and Chris ended up sitting out in the lobby. Then, during the reception Jack fell sound asleep in his Gram's arms.Jack got to meet his cousins, Grace and Amelia:
Saturday night when we got home from the wedding, Uncle Ken, Aunt Victoria, Grace, and Amelia were at our house. They stayed with us from Sat. night until Wed. morning. We had such a great visit with them, but it was definitely interesting having 3 kids in our house at once. Wow! But, it was so much fun. We went to the big playground in Athens where Jack mostly stayed in his stroller and we went to another park one morning without Ken and Chris. The Monday of their visit was my first afternoon back to work, so that afternoon everyone (but me) drove down to Anniston to visit Grandma Dottie and Uncle Rob. Jack did pretty good for his first extended time away from me. And, I guess I did okay! Tuesday afternoon we all went to the Huntsville Botanical gardens which was really cool. Jack didn't think it was so cool....he slept through most of it. Oh well! Here is my favorite picture of the visit. Grace is a very good big cousin!First Mother's Day and Jill's Birthday:
I guess there isn't too much to tell here, but Sunday we took a picture of me with Jack to "remember the day." Jack got me some daisies which were very cute (and since that's my favorite flower....it was a plus). 2 days later was my birthday. Jack and I drove to South Pittsburg, TN to have lunch with my mom and Nana. Then, that night Chris lined up a family from church to keep Jack so we could go out for a hot date. That was a lot of fun! This past Saturday we drove to Chattanooga to meet up with Chris's parents for the day. We had lunch at Sticky Fingers downtown and then walked around. We walked over the river on the pedestrian bridge and hung out at the park. Of course after that we had to get some yummy ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. Jack also got to experience his first bus ride on the free shuttle that is provided downtown. He thought it was very cool to be in a moving vehicle without a carseat. Fortunately, it didn't seem to bother him too much that he had to get back in his car seat to head home. He slept the whole way home!Play Time:
One final note and picture! Jack is just becoming so much fun! He's really starting to "talk" a lot and laugh. He loves being in this little exersaucer because he can stand up and play! It's been so much fun to watch him grow and change every day! We'll try to keep this updated better this next month!
