Making Room for Baby

Well, the day is quickly approaching when we will enter into the wonderful world of being parents. We are now only 11 weeks away and that is so hard to believe. Emotionally, we think we are ready. However, physical preparations are a different story. The baby has to have a place to sleep when he arrives and so far, he doesn't. But, we are 2 steps closer. A few weeks ago, Chris and our friend Derek built a big storage shed in our back yard. This is so that we can move a bunch of stuff out of our house and into the shed. Now that's out. So, the room that was being used as storage is currently in the process of being turned into a storage closet and an office. This is not a small task. The room used to be a garage. The people who owned the house before us made the garage a room. However, they failed to insulate it. So, in the winter it's really cold and in the summer it's really hot despite the fact that there is a vent in the room. So, this week Chris's dad (Grandpa) graciously came to help out. They have been busy tearing down wood paneling, insulating the walls, and putting up sheet rock. They are also building the closet and widening the door that goes to the room so we can actually put furniture in there. Crazy! The transformation has been fun to watch, but also in the process of this......we were hositing Chris's family for Thanksgiving yesterday. Not his whole family, just his parents, grandma, and Uncle Rob. However, that meant 4 extra people staying in our home under construction. However, it all worked out. We had a great thanksgiving meal (I cooked my first one ever, so you might should ask everyone else if it was good) in a dining room that was NOT under construction. We spent the rest of the evening relaxing, watching Over the Hedge, and playing Yahtzee! Uncle Rob dominated the game of Yahtzee, so he was quite proud of himself. So, another turkey day has come and gone. Now, it's time to get ready for Christmas.
