Week 1 (plus a little)

Since the first full week of January didn't start until Jan 3, I'm including Jan 1 and 2 in this time frame! If this doesn't make sense to you, read my previous post, Project LIFE.

We rang in 2010 in a quiet manner. We went to eat at On the Border for our "last meal" before becoming healthy in the new year (ha) and then came home to play with our new Wii and Wii Fit. Jack's favorite games so far are bowling and the penguin slide. He doesn't quite have the hang of it yet but is definitely liking our new "toy."

After Jack was in bed, we celebrated the new year at midnight with sparkling wine and some good conversation. We reflected on our past year and decade and dreamed about our future. On New Year's Day we took down our Christmas tree and went to the gym to work out.Sat Jan 2
Gram arrived at our house! She came to keep Jack for the week while mommy and daddy were traveling to St. Louis to attend NCYM. We had fun teaching Gram how to play Cariboo Island!
On Monday we left for St. Louis. The conference was great this year with lots of really good speakers. We especially enjoyed our time together to refresh for ministry and brainstorm for the new year. On Wednesday night, it snowed! A LOT! And, it was really cold! Here is Chris scraping the car off Thursday when we left the hotel for dinner.Thursday Jan 7
The conference ended at 5:00 Thursday. So, Chris and I went for a date! We drove to the Hill section of St. Louis to eat at Canettos. It was a very good Italian restaurant that our friends, Dale and Dana recommended. After dinner, we drove downtown to see the arch (not the best quality picture but it reminds me of how cold and snowy it was). Then, we went to the Moolah Theatre to watch Up in the Air. It was a unique experience because the seating was leather couches and love seats. The Moolah is a restored Jewish shrine.
While we were in St. Louis, Jack was back home having the time of his life with Gram. He stayed in his pajamas a lot because it was so cold! I don't think the temperatures ever got out of the single digits. Friday Jan 8
We got snow at home too! And, of course Jack had to play in it! Gram was such a trooper to bundle up so that Jack could go have his fun in the snow! Thankfully the snow stuck around for about a week so Jack had many more opportunities to play in it on days that were slightly warmer.

Fun! I envy you St. Louis...but not all that snow! I'm glad you had a good time.

I just put up some Project Life pics tonight, too. Great minds think alike!

Hey Kent and I ate there in St. Louis on the... let's see... SECOND day of our marriage. We were driving to Indy from Abilene and stopped there at Dale's suggestion.
