I have titled this post, "home" even though none of these pictures were taking at our actual home. It was just so great to be home this week!!! I love getting to participate in summer activities and for Jack to get to play with his friends and for us to spend time together as a family in the midst of our crazy summer of traveling. It was nice to be back in semi-normal routine.
On Wednesday afternoon our friends Doug and Melissa arrived to spend one night with us. Doug and Melissa were very dear friends of mine at Harding. They drive through Indianapolis about once a year on their way to Ohio from Missouri so we always enjoy seeing them. Jack especially enjoys seeing Kailee. This year they had a blast together!!! Wednesday night we went to dinner and church and then after church Chris was busy with the teens but the rest of us went to the park and out for ice cream. This kids went to bed REALLY late and then we got up Thursday morning and all headed to the Children's Museum. Jack endured the Barbie exhibit for Kailee...
Friday night we decided to celebrate July 4th early!!! (our church summer camp starts on the 4th) We headed downtown to the Indians baseball game (our minor league team). We have been saying for 3 years that we would go to a game and finally did it!!! I'm so glad we did. It was great. There were many highlights of the night, but one of the best ones was when an usher gave Jack this baseball!! When we first arrived Jack was playing in the aisle beside our seats and the man came and told Jack he couldn't do that (which made me really happy that someone else told him that). Then about 4 innings later.....that man came and told Jack how good he had been staying in his seat and just handed him the ball!! Jack was really proud of that!
Here is a picture of the hot, tired, and sweaty kids!!!
Tonight was great to just play in our backyard and enjoy popsicles on the deck. I'm so happy it's summer time. And, it really helped that this week was a lot cooler here. The weather was perfect and even a little chilly at night!
Happy 4th of July everyone!!!
