We had another great week with our countdown until Christmas!
Sunday Dec 5: this was just a candy cane day.......no special activity as we were busy with church stuff most of the day!
Monday Dec 6: Baking Day! Tonight we made 3 different types of Christmas goodies to package up to give to Jack's Bible Class teachers, the secretaries at church, and our neighbors. Jack was actually very helpful this year! He loved helping make the peanut butter cracker sandwiches and dipping them in the almond bark and decorating them with sprinkles!
Tuesday Dec 7: Movie Night - Jack's choice!
All day Jack was insistent that we were going to watch Toy Story 3 that night. So, after dinner we went to buy Toy Story 3 instead of rent it since we know this is a movie we want to own anyways. Well, after we got home......in true Jack fashion.....he changed his mind! He wanted to just watch a Thomas movie that he already had. Agh! But, we obliged and watched the Thomas movie. I can't say that I really watched it but it was a great rest time for mommy to just sit on the couch and snuggle with Jack. But, the true highlight of family movie nights is popcorn! Jack is great at making the popcorn on the stove top (with lots of supervision of course)!
Wed Dec 8: Jack's first trip to the dentist!
Thurs Dec 9: Downtown to look at lights and enjoy hot chocolate on the downtown circle! This picture is looking up at the monument with the lights coming down all around to form a Christmas tree! It's much more impressive in person!
Friday Dec 10: The Children's Museum for Jolly Days! A highlight at the museum each Christmas is their yule slide. Needless to say, I did NOT slide with Jack this year!
Saturday Dec 11: Build and Grow Clinic at Lowe's with Daddy AND Grandaddy
My parents are here right now because my sister-in-law is scheduled to have my new niece or nephew on Monday so today my dad and Chris took Jack back to Lowes for part 2 of 3 of building a train. This is a picture of Jack's caboose from last week and his box car from this week. I guess we better make it back next Saturday to finish the train with the engine!
