Hide Me Away

A favorite time around our house to me is at bedtime when Jack sings songs with us. Tonight I decided to get out my camera and make some short videos of Jack singing. He's been working on the song Hide Me Away, O Lord lately and usually will sing the whole song with 3 verses all alone without prompting. Of course when I got the camera out, he did not oblige. However, I think you'll find that he did make a few precious videos.

Hide me away, O Lord.
Hide me away, O Lord.
In the day of trouble 'neath the shadow of your wings
Hide me away, O Lord.

Safe in your dwelling place.
Safe in your dwelling place.
In the day of trouble 'neath the shadow of your wings
I'll be safe in your dwelling place.

So, give me your peace, O Lord.
Give me your peace, O Lord.
In the day of trouble 'neath the shadow of your wings
Give me your peace, O Lord.

These words have new meaning to me today as I have been watching a family at the hospital struggle with the fact that their 7 week old baby is about to die and that baby was perfectly healthy just 1 week ago. We also just received some news of a tragic accident in Athens (where we used to live) that killed the mom and grandmother of a kid in our youth group there.

Yet, God is still God. We are safe in His dwelling place. This precious little baby is going to be in His arms very soon. And, Thomas's mom and grandma are already there. May God hide "me" away and may he always hold Jack in his arms. And, may Jack know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is God and that God is his shelter in good times and bad. And, may there be peace tonight....

What precious video! And what a precious message Jack is learning through his bedtime song routine! Thanks for sharing. It's an awesome reminder for all of us!
