I want to introduce you to Cecelia.
Cecelia had polio as a child and that is why she must wear braces and use crutches when she walks. On Chris's first trip to Ghana in 2006 he met Cecelia. She was walking 2+ miles everyday on wooden crutches just to get into "town" for food and water. The group he was with stopped to give her a ride and she has never been the same. She is now a member of the Tongo Church and is currently training to be a seamstress thanks to money that was provided through Central. We also make sure she gets new braces and shoes when she needs them. Probably the biggest impact on her life (other than being introduced to Jesus) has been this hand bicycle that was given to her by a family at Central. This makes her daily commute so much easier and she can carry things that she needs. Here is Tommy asking her how her bike is doing and finding out that she needs new tires. So, we made sure that she got new tires on this trip!
Now, being a physical therapist and working with mobility devices everyday, I must say this is pretty inventive. It actually holds up pretty well on all the dirt and rocky roads. Cecelia is such a strong woman. She is such a hard worker and never complains. Please join me in praying for Cecelia right now. She has been training to be a seamstress and is very good. However, currently she is serving under a madam as an apprentice. She was supposed to be released from her apprenticeship months ago but because she is a good and faithful worker....the lady has not let her go. If she does not let her go by July of this year....Cecelia can take a test to be able to be licensed and on her own. But, let's pray that it doesn't come to that and this lady will recognize that it's time for Cecelia to be on her own. This will help Cecelia tremendously! This will put her in a much better financial position and probably even better spirits too!! She is beyond ready to have her own sewing business!!!

Wow! I love the way you are bringing your trip to life for all of us! This story about Cecilia is so inspiring. I will pray for her and also thank God for her example!
