#4

Jack's New Room (the 4th item on my project "to do" list). You can see projects #1, 2, and 3 in previous posts and then when you look at these pictures you can see how it all came together!

We decided that we would give Jack our queen size bed from our guest room and then give the baby her own room and keep our bonus room for playing. This way when we have guests.....there is still a queen size bed to sleep in and Jack can either sleep in our room or the baby's room. We decided to let Jack make the decision about which room he wanted. We could move the queen bed to his current room or move him into the current guest room. After much agony over the decision......Jack finally decided he wanted to move into the "new room."

The first order of business was removing the ugly florescent light from the guest room that we had been wanting to remove since moving into the house 3 years ago and replacing it with a ceiling fan. If you've ever been a guest in our house.....you know this is a huge improvement. It changed the whole look of the room!

Jack's new bed:He had this quilt on his twin sized bed and we still really like it, so I got a green duvet cover for the comforter we already had on the guest bed and the quilt works with it just great. You can also see Jack's "friends" on his bed. They are Monkey and Big Toe and that is who he sleeps with every night!

Above his bed:We had the train picture in his old room and it says, "Kirby Express" on it. A few weeks ago I found the 2 prints on either side on ebay by the same artist as the train picture. I bought them and then only had to buy 1 more white frame to complete the "look" above his bed. Jack actually helped me hang these today and he is very excited about them!

The dresser:Jack's new dresser is working out quite well. It's more cluttered right now than I typically like because it's humidifier season! The heat has been turned on in our house and Jack has had a little bit of a cough. This definitely seems to help!

Book corner:In case you think my child needs more books.............he picked about 20 books to "give" to the baby's bookshelf and then he still has a whole shelf of books in our playroom and a whole shelf of larger books in his old room that we have yet decided where to put them. On top of his bookshelf sits his train that he helped glue together and paint. Needless to say, that gets a prize position in his room for now.

So there you have it.....#4 done! Well, almost.....I have a few more things to move over to Jack's closet (I'll spare you the pictures of his closet although it is very neat and organized)!

Then, it's on to #5.....
